Sakura in Copenhagen

April 26, 2015 in Events, Photography

Sometimes I wonder how many times you have to do something for it to become a tradition. Two? Three? More? Anyway...this weekend marked my fourth time visiting the Sakura festival in Copenhagen, Denmark to photograph the blossoming cherry trees, the performances and mostly the people visiting the festival.

Previous years I’ve shot A LOT of the martial arts displays, but this year I decided not to do that, but rather to focus on the people in the crowd...which was not quite as big this year as previous years, mostly due to the weather being somewhat iffy. That also meant that there weren’t as many people dressed up as characters from manga and anime...but that is okay. It was a nice outing all the same, and there’s almost always something to see and photograph in the Danish capital, be it on a festival or just any ordinary Saturday.

Perhaps next year it’ll be both more costumes and better weather...we’ll know by the end of April, 2016, because I see few reasons why there shouldn't be a fifth visit for me!
