Projects, projects...
For most of my photographic "life" I've been a single image at a time person, not doing anything long term like shooting for an upcoming exhibition or book and I've been fine with that. I've always thought about having a project though, something that can be done on a long term basis, but haven't really found anything that's been thrilling enough to do.
Now though I find myself toying with 3 (!) at the same time. How's that for irony?
Summer is for reading
For as long as I can remember I've loved books and reading. For many years as a kid I averaged about a book per week, but lately I have been sorely lacking in my reading discipline. I chalk that up to the fact that I had to switch to bifocals awhile back and before that I sort of weened myself off reading since I couldn't read the smallest printed letters with my old glasses. Now though I don't have any excuse NOT to read, so I should have a crack at my "to be read pile".
Stroll in the park
This week's images are all from the Torup Castle park, about 11 km (or 7 miles for the metrically challenged) from my home. It was a beautiful summer day with lots of sunshine, so of course I've only picked the moodiest of black and white shots taken while the sun was obscured by clouds. Makes sense doesn't it?
The 365 Project - May Wrap-Up
Another month has gone by and we're now into June of my 365 year. Soon I'll even be halfway to the finish line, and it still feels like fun, although it's a bit of a challenge to come up with something new every day, something you've not shot before. But hey, that's part of the fun, to challenge oneself a bit.
Geeks of the city...unite...and parade!
Last weekend the Sci-Fi bookstore in Malmö reopened in a new and bigger locale, and to celebrate this (as well as Geek Pride Day earlier in the week) there was a parade where everyone was encouraged to show off their inner geek, in whatever form that may be.
Showing photos at "The Plank"
This weekend I participated in Planket ("The Plank"), a one day photo exhibition in a park in Malmö, Sweden that was back on after a year's hiatus. I’ve done this event a few times before, but this year it was the first time we were actually IN the park, rather than along the fence of it, next to a very busy foot and bike path with lots of potential viewers.
Listen while ya walk...
This week’s blog post is not going to have any new photographs, since I’ve not done all that much of it lately. You get into a “lull” at times...and that’s nothing to worry about. It’ll come back soon enough. I am still doing my 365 project and have no plans on leaving that until December 31. :-)
Instead I’m going to write about something that is a part of my (almost) daily routine: listening to podcasts.
It's exhibition time again...soon
In a few weeks’ time it is once again time for a one-day event called Planket (The Plank), where a bunch of photographers show photographs in a park in Malmö. I’ve done this event a few times now and it is always a lot of fun, both to show your own stuff to the general public as well as seeing what other photographers do.
The 365 Project - April Wrap-Up
Another month has gone by on my year-long project of shooting, editing and posting an image every single day of 2016. We're now into the month of May which means it is time to sum up the last month with a few selected pictures.
Photowalking the Malmö parks
This weekend was another one with lots of good time nvolving photography. At first there was the monthly get-together with fellow Facebook group members at a local café, where we spend a few hours hanging out and talking about whatever we come up with, and then I joined an interesting World Wide Instameet get-together for a stroll through the parks of Malmö, while shooting a pic here and there.
