December 31 - Day 366: A Step In The Right Direction - Goodbye 2016!

The 365 Project - December Wrap-Up

January 09, 2017 in Cell Phone, Photography, Project, Travel

This is my 12th and final Wrap-Up post for the year-long project I had during 2016. That means that for 366 straight days I was able to take, edit and post a picture on Instagram. (that's bending the truth a bit though about the take a picture part...there were days when I didn't take the actual picture but had to resort to using the "archive").

I'll probably do a whole year retrospective blogpost in a little while, once the project has sort of settled in my mind, so this will be "just" a December wrap-up in the same vein as the previous ones; a cover image and then some pictures from the last month's batch.

Old World (again) and a house for a mouse

December 18, 2016 in Inspiration, Experience, Photography, Post production, Project

For the first time since September I've actually added a few images to my "Old World" project that I was so busy with before having them on display at this year's Culture Fest in Staffanstorp in September. There were a few "leftover" shots from the visit to the Katrinetorp Christmas Market and the park next door that I covered in last week's blog post, that I figured I'd give the Old World treatment in Analog Efex Pro and Silver Efex Pro.

Christmas is market season

December 11, 2016 in Events, Photography

Just like summer brings on the market season around this province we get a lot of markets around December, selling all kinds of Christmas related things and knickknacks. I've never been to the market held at Katrinetorps Gård, an old-style manor house turned living museum,  just outside of Malmö, Sweden, so I figured it was time to go.

November 9 - Day 314: Into A Dark Tunnel

The 365 Project - November Wrap-Up

December 04, 2016 in Cell Phone, Photography, Project

So...here it is, my last but one wrap-up post for this year's project. I've done well over 330 pictures so far on something I quite honestly wasn't sure I'd be able to complete. I've got a habit of starting projects that I end up not finishing for various reasons. But this one has stuck with me for 11+ months now. I have no intention to quit now that I'm so close to the "goal", and in fact in the last few days I've toyed with the idea of keeping it up into next year.

November is not a photo month

November 27, 2016 in Photography, Project, Writing

Whenever November rolls in my photography urges tend to fall to a year low, because frankly both the weather and the light tend to be dreary as hell. Also, I tend to be a bit more occupied with something that has become a tradition for me. For the past eight years I've participated in the National Novel Writing Month (yep, been there, done that, have the sweater...and the thermos mug...and the stickers) which, if anyone who knows me doesn't know too much about it already, is where you set the yourself the goal to write a pre-first draft of a novel of 50,000 words in one month. That's 1,667 words per day for 30 days in a row.

Night Photography Walk

November 13, 2016 in Photography

One of the things I don't do nearly enough of is night photography, or low light photography in general. Mostly because it can be cumbersome to schlepp a tripod around, setting it up and waiting for the long exposures to finish...but when it is done right it looks pretty darn good!

October 12 - Day 286: Fall Color Explosion

The 365 Project - October Wrap-Up

November 02, 2016 in Cell Phone, Photography, Project

Once again it's time to do a monthly wrap-up on my yearlong photo project. This was the tenth month in a row of taking, editing and posting an image every day via Instagram. This month also meant I passed the completely arbitrary, but still somewhat impressive, 300th image of the year. As before I've picked 5 images plus a "cover" to write a bit more about them.

Fall colors in the park

October 23, 2016 in Exhibition, Photography, Post production

After a week full of photo club events and two one-day exhibitions where I had pictures on display, today has been a blissfully laid back Sunday. Even though for a few moments the sun showed up, I didn't feel the urge to go out there, camera in hand. Instead I took some time to go through and edit photos from two weekends ago when I was part of a Facebook photo group photowalk to the gardens around the Alnarp Agricultural University.

Walking with photographers

October 16, 2016 in Photography

It's been awhile since I wrote on this blog, so I figured it's time to write about the walk I did during the 9th Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk that occurred on October 1st, 2016. This year I took part in the one that happened in Malmö, Sweden (I've done the walk in Copenhagen a few times before).

September 11 - Day 255: Spiral

The 365 Project - September Wrap-Up

October 02, 2016 in Photography, Project

My my how time flies this year! It feels like it was not at all long ago that I wrote the wrap-up post for August and now I am doing the one for September. That means I've got just three months to go on this year-long endeavor. Less than 100 days even. That certainly feels doable to me!
