A photographic "shoot-out" between generations....
Today's post is images from a photowalk I did at the end of October in Malmö, Sweden with a local photography group on Facebook. It was fun to do, and it's always cool to do those with new people, to enjoy the social aspect of photography.
Read MoreIt's that time of the year again, when pretty much everything green in nature is turning yellow, red or brown and it's pretty much a photographer's "duty" to be out there to take pictures of the abundance of colors! I've certainly done my fair share of fall colors photos in the past, but there's always room for a bit more.
These pictures are from one of the parks (and cemetery) in Malmö, Sweden where the colors certainly were pretty and people were out enjoying the scenery!

Read MoreStreet photography is fun when you can land expressions on people's faces! In a crowded city like Copenhagen on a Saturday afternoon/evening it isn't always so easy. You tend to get a lot of shots where people "interfere" with your composition by sticking an arm, leg or a head into your frame, but that's all part of the experience. You'll get a lot of "duds" among your keepers, and that is nothing to be too upset about. It's easier to just shoot more and look for the expression instead. If Joe Public (or whatever the Danish equivalent might be called) ends up in half your frame...no biggie!

This week’s blog post is one of those “the things you do for family” moments. My dad had said yes to be one of the “runway models” for a local group of senior citizens’ fashion show, so for rather obvious reasons he couldn't be the photographer...so I (was) volunteered. I also learned a few things, since I don't do event photography that often.
Read MoreI took a brief walk in Malmö the other day to get my photography back in gear after a bit of a bout with a cold and while I didn't walk for very long I got a few shots that I'm okay with sharing. Fall is definitely upon us, and people have begun to switch out their colorful summer wardrobe for more somber colors. Still a few weeks to go though before we all descend into Ingmar Bergman territory, wardrobe-wise, so best to make the most of it!
It's interesting to see that there are a lot of people out and about walking around with guide books and maps in Malmö, to an extent that I didn't see just a few years ago. Lots of tourists must do wonders for the hotel and restaurant businesses!
Swedes love their phones...some seem unable to leave them be for even the briefest of moments.... (I should know...I'm one of those people, even though I'm working on leaving the thing in my pocket more).
Sometimes though a face to face conversation is just better than using our phones!
He landed safely much further down than I thought he would.
It's almost the middle of September and fall is definitely upon us. With cold mornings and that almost crisp air when the skies are clear. I don't mind, although I wish we'd had one of those long-lasting heatwaves that just settles for awhile this summer. But then again, it's Sweden we're talking about, so heatwaves are not too common!
Still...park life happens at all times of the year, fall, winter, spring OR summer, and the images in this blog post are all taken in and around Pildammsparken on a late afternoon in September 2015.

Last Sunday I felt It was time to do another stroll in the city of Malmö to capture whatever struck my fancy and while it wasn't the most well-populated streets I think I found a few interesting things to take pictures of; among tourists, bicycles, pedal boats in the canal and wall murals, to name a few.

During the week since my last posting I've been at three museums: The Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Humlebaek, Denmark, The Malmöhus Castle Museum and the Museum of Sketches in Lund. That's definitely not my normal dosage, but this week that's how it lined up. Out of these museums the one in Denmark was definitely the biggest, both in floor space, exhibition size as well as crowd sizes. It is interesting to see people reacting to artworks at exhibitions, what moves people to respond in different ways, so this week's post is mostly people in those three museums, with a shot of the great hall at Malmöhus Castle thrown in just to share some scenery.
