For the umpteenth time the city of Malmö has had its weeklong festival (a.k.a. Malmöfestivalen) and once again the streets and squares in the center of the city have been full of music, food and people...lots and lots of people!

Lots of photographers trying to get good shots of the parade. :-)
Pride, Pride, Pride...
I've had a busy weekend (and a few days afterwards editing the photos) shooting two Pride parades. It's so much fun shooting these events, because even while it is in fact a protest march, it is a march FOR something, rather than against (which is usually the case). It's about positivity in every sense of the word!

The 365 Project - July Wrap-Up
Another month of my 2016 365 project is over and as of the end of July I’m at the point where I called it quits last time I tried this year long project back in 2014. Not so this time! I’ve got no plans on quitting this because I still find it fun to find an image to post on a daily basis. I’ve discovered that the key is not to let yourself lag behind even for a day, because it is way too easy to say to yourself that it’s no biggie...you can always post two tomorrow. That tends to lead to more laziness and then you have to post three or more in a row, and that’s more like a chore than something you do for fun...and this is supposed to be fun after all!
As before I’ve chosen five images, plus a cover images for this blog post to write a bit more about. So here we go!

One of the things I enjoy about photography and social media is the interaction, online as well as in real life...because let's face it - tapping away on your keyboard is interaction to a certain extent, but to have face to face conversations with other photographers is a lot more fun!
That is why I try to take part in as many photowalks as I can with the Facebook group I'm a member of, to talk to and interact with other photographers. To be perfectly honest, to take the "best ever" photos during these events is never my goal, because I think you'll have to have a bit more of a solitary time to get your best work done, to be "alone" with your camera.

Vikings all the way down...*
One of the favorite things I like to shoot is historical locations (side effects of growing up with a history teacher for a father) and reenactments are often part of that. For many years I've gone to Foteviken Viking Museum to shoot during their market at the end of June/start of July, but this year I had other obligations, so instead I went to the somewhat smaller market in Trelleborg on the southern coast which took place a week later.

The 365 Project - June Wrap-Up
We are now in the month of July, which means I'm halfway done with my 365 project. Yay! Also, my my how time flies! It doesn't really feel like it's been over six months since I posted the first of these images on Instagram, but then I look at the 184 images in my Lightroom folder and there they are, all 184 (!) of them. There'll be another 182 before the year is over, but at least I know I'm on the "home stretch", if quite a long stretch!

For most of my photographic "life" I've been a single image at a time person, not doing anything long term like shooting for an upcoming exhibition or book and I've been fine with that. I've always thought about having a project though, something that can be done on a long term basis, but haven't really found anything that's been thrilling enough to do.
Now though I find myself toying with 3 (!) at the same time. How's that for irony?

This week's images are all from the Torup Castle park, about 11 km (or 7 miles for the metrically challenged) from my home. It was a beautiful summer day with lots of sunshine, so of course I've only picked the moodiest of black and white shots taken while the sun was obscured by clouds. Makes sense doesn't it?

The 365 Project - May Wrap-Up
Another month has gone by and we're now into June of my 365 year. Soon I'll even be halfway to the finish line, and it still feels like fun, although it's a bit of a challenge to come up with something new every day, something you've not shot before. But hey, that's part of the fun, to challenge oneself a bit.

Last weekend the Sci-Fi bookstore in Malmö reopened in a new and bigger locale, and to celebrate this (as well as Geek Pride Day earlier in the week) there was a parade where everyone was encouraged to show off their inner geek, in whatever form that may be.
